First Year Shabbat

Experience Shabbat with Tufts Hillel, as we come together for an evening of Shabbat celebrations!
Students of all backgrounds are welcome to attend! We have four options to spend Friday night Shabbat with us, come to as many as you like.

Pre-Shabbat Food & Music Friday, September 4th, 5:30-6 PM
Location: Tisch Roof
We will begin with a “Pre-Neg” (music, appetizers, and shmoozing) on Tisch Roof before we break off into Shabbat services.

First-Year Shabbat: Conservative Services
Friday, September 4th, 6-7 PM
Location: Tisch Roof
Welcome Shabbat with your peers at our student-led services. At Conservative services, you can expect traditional Hebrew liturgy (with English explanations), lots of spirited singing, and possibly, spontaneous dancing!
First-Year Shabbat: Reform Services Friday, September 4th, 6-7 PM
Location Hillel Garden
Bring in Shabbat with your peers at our student-led services. At Reform services, you can expect Hebrew and English liturgy, lots of spirited singing, and musical instrumentation!
First-Year Shabbat: Dinner Friday, September 4th, 7-8 PM
Location: Granoff Family Hillel Center
After services, we’ll come together for Shabbat dinner in our dining room. All food will be kosher, with allergy-friendly options available.
Dinner will be followed by dessert and board games! Students participating in Shabbat at Hillel will be excused from the CARE show and will be sent follow up information directly from CARE. Please register for Shabbat dinner by texting “DINNER” to 617-420-7411 by Friday, September 4th at 11:00 a.m. and please bring your Tufts ID.
Registration for Shabbat dinner is highly encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome.
