A Place to Remember October 7th
October 7 @ 9:00 am – 9:00 pm EDT
We invite the Tufts community to stop by Hillel on Oct 7th anytime from 9am to 9pm to mourn the tragedy and to remember and honor the lives that were lost. Knowing that everyone processes differently, we will have a designated Memorial area that will include opportunities to:
– Light a Yarzteit (memorial) candle
– Place a stone* which we will then add to our garden
– Recite prayers, reflect, and read from a selection of poems
– Take an Israeli flag (flags, pins, and stickers available)
– Write a message in a memorial book
*Traditionally, Jews put stones on graves when they visit the final resting place of a loved one.
Community Gathering followed by Mincha 5:00pm
For those looking for community during this time, we will be gathering at 5pm for remarks led by Rabbi Brawer, followed by student-led Conservative Mincha Services. Light refreshments will follow.
We hope you will find comfort and meaning in these commemorative actions.
Student Leaders, have an event to add?
