SUMMARY:Gesher: Building Bridges Fellowship
DESCRIPTION:Apply now! \n\n\n\nApplications due by Wednesday\, January 24 at 12:00 pm (noon). \n\n\n\nThe course will begin on Wednesday\, February 7\, 2024 at 8:00 pm. Fellowship meetings will be weekly on Wednesday at 8:00 pm. \n\n\n\nWhat is Gesher? \n\n\n\nSince October 7th\, we’ve felt many things—grief\, mourning\, anger\, fear\, confusion. One thing has been missing: dialogue. Gesher: Building Bridges is a new Tufts Hillel initiative aimed at bridging the divides within the Jewish community. \n\n\n\nGesher fellows will study diverse perspectives on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through a focus on seeing the other and building bridges\, particularly amid the ongoing war. We will delve into important themes\, including identity\, diaspora\, humanization\, and challenging hate. This is a student-led fellowship designed for all students—Jewish and allies alike—committed to shared learning\, open to new experiences\, and respectful toward diverse voices.  \n\n\n\nAs a fellows you will have the opportunity to explore your own views in a challenging\, tolerant\, and respectful environment. The fellowship will feature a highly subsidized trip over Patriots’ Day Weekend to hear insightful speakers and come together in pursuit of collective healing. \n\n\n\nDates and logistical details: \n\n\n\nWeekly seminars over 10 weeks beginning 2/7/24 \n\n\n\nWednesdays at 8:00pm. \n\n\n\nImmersive travel experience over over Patriots’ Day Weekend \n\n\n\nApply now!

SUMMARY:Jewish Learning Fellowship
DESCRIPTION:The Jewish Learning Fellowship (JLF) is a nine-week experiential seminar for undergraduates looking to deepen their understanding of Judaism on their own terms while making friends and having fun.We will discuss Jewish perspectives on social justice\, asking questions like: What do I do when the world is on fire? Who am I responsible for? What do I do when systems fall apart? We will ask big questions about life but don’t purport to have any of the answers. We make no claims about the “right” way to practice or not to practice Judaism. We are all works in progress\, and we hope to provide you the time and space to consider the big questions and find your own answers. In addition\, we will nourish you (plenty of snacks!) and value your time (after completion of the program you will receive a stipend). \n\n\n\nOpen to all undergraduate students. \n\n\n\nApply Here: https://forms.gle/SqmCt7KAAx2DyZhz7 \n\n\n\nFAQWhen does the fellowship meet?We will be meeting on Wednesday evenings from 4:30-5:30 PM. Fellows are required to attend and participate in all sessions to receive a stipend. \n\n\n\nIs there homework? Will this cause me more stress? There is no homework! And students report that JLF is a break from the stress of school and work\, not an added burden. \n\n\n\nWho is eligible to apply?Current undergraduates are invited to apply. No previous formal Jewish learning experience is necessary. JLF is open to students from a wide variety of Jewish backgrounds\, expressions\, and experiences. \n\n\n\nCan I apply if I have already participated in JLF?Returning fellows are welcome to apply\, though first-time participants are given priority. \n\n\n\nDid you mention a stipend?First-time fellows earn a $200 stipend at the end of the fellowship.
