DESCRIPTION:Experience Shabbat with Tufts Hillel\, as we come together for an evening of Shabbat celebrations!  \n\n\n\nStudents of all backgrounds are welcome to attend! We have four options to spend Friday night Shabbat with us\, come to as many as you like.  \n\n\n\nSchedule\n\n\n\nPre-Shabbat Food & Music Friday\, September 4th\, 5:30-6 PM \n\n\n\nLocation: Tisch Roof  \n\n\n\nWe will begin with a “Pre-Neg” (music\, appetizers\, and shmoozing) on Tisch Roof before we break off into Shabbat services. \n\n\n\nServices options – see below  \n\n\n\nFirst-Year Shabbat: Conservative Services  \n\n\n\nFriday\, September 4th\, 6-7 PM  \n\n\n\nLocation: Tisch Roof  \n\n\n\nWelcome Shabbat with your peers at our student-led services. At Conservative services\, you can expect traditional Hebrew liturgy (with English explanations)\, lots of spirited singing\, and possibly\, spontaneous dancing! \n\n\n\nFirst-Year Shabbat: Reform Services Friday\, September 4th\, 6-7 PM \n\n\n\nLocation Hillel Garden  \n\n\n\nBring in Shabbat with your peers at our student-led services. At Reform services\, you can expect Hebrew and English liturgy\, lots of spirited singing\, and musical instrumentation! \n\n\n\nFirst-Year Shabbat: Dinner Friday\, September 4th\, 7-8 PM \n\n\n\nLocation: Granoff Family Hillel Center  \n\n\n\nAfter services\, we’ll come together for Shabbat dinner in our dining room. All food will be kosher\, with allergy-friendly options available.  \n\n\n\nDinner will be followed by dessert and board games! Students participating in Shabbat at Hillel will be excused from the CARE show and will be sent follow up information directly from CARE. Please register for Shabbat dinner by texting “DINNER” to 617-420-7411 by Friday\, September 4th at 11:00 a.m. and please bring your Tufts ID.  \n\n\n\nRegistration for Shabbat dinner is highly encouraged\, but walk-ins are welcome.

Traditional/Egalitarian services. \n\n\n\nThis service will use the machzor (prayer book) “Lev Shalem” and will include: \n\n\n\n\nTraditional Hebrew liturgy combined with English readings and explanations\n\n\n\nGuided meditations\n\n\n\nCommunal singing\n\n\n\n\n2. Reform services will include: \n\n\n\n\nFamiliar Reform Liturgy with contemporary framings \n\n\n\nIntegrated Poetry/Creative Readings\n\n\n\nCommunal Singing\n\n\n\nMusical instrumentation\n\n\n\n\nHigh Holiday Meals\n\n\n\nYes\, it’s true you can eat delicious kosher food throughout the High Holidays. \n\n\n\nYou are invited to Tufts Hillel’s High Holidays Meals. You can expect great food\, connection with your community\, and spiritual renewal! \n\n\n\nTransparent meal pricing: \n\n\n\nThe real cost of a meal to Tufts Hillel is over $40 per person. This year\, Hillel will cover 100% of the cost of all High Holiday meals for Tufts students. \n\n\n\nFirst-Year Students \n\n\n\nAll first-years have unlimited meal swipes. Please use a meal swipe when registering for High Holiday meals. This helps Tufts Hillel receive partial reimbursement from Tufts Dining. \n\n\n\nSophomores\, Juniors\, and Seniors \n\n\n\nPlease consider using a meal swipe for your High Holiday meals. Be sure to provide your student ID and give permission on the registration form so Tufts Hillel can be partially reimbursed by Tufts Dining. \n\n\n\nParents\, Alumni\, and Community Members \n\n\n\nThe real cost of a meal to Tufts Hillel is over $40 per person. This year\, Hillel will cover 100% of the cost of all High Holiday meals for Tufts students. \n\n\n\nWe ask that parents\, alumni\, and community members consider a voluntary donation of $18\, $36\, $72\, or $100 to help us cover the cost of meals.
