DESCRIPTION:The Jewish Learning Fellowship (JLF) is a nine-week experiential seminar for undergraduates looking to deepen their understanding of Judaism on their own terms while making friends and having fun.We will discuss Jewish perspectives on social justice\, asking questions like: What do I do when the world is on fire? Who am I responsible for? What do I do when systems fall apart?We will ask big questions about life but don’t purport to have any of the answers. We make no claims about the “right” way to practice or not to practice Judaism. We are all works in progress\, and we hope to provide you the time and space to consider the big questions and find your own answers.In addition\, we will nourish you (plenty of snacks!) and value your time (after completion of the program you will receive a stipend). \n\n\n\nOpen to all undergraduate students. \n\n\n\nApply Here: https://forms.gle/SqmCt7KAAx2DyZhz7 \n\n\n\nFAQWhen does the fellowship meet?We will be meeting on Wednesday evenings from 4:30-5:30 PM. And students report that JLF is a break from the stress of school and work\, not an added burden. \n\n\n\n​Who is eligible to apply?Current undergraduates are invited to apply. No previous formal Jewish learning experience is necessary. JLF is open to students from a wide variety of Jewish backgrounds\, expressions\, and experiences. \n\n\n\nCan I apply if I have already participated in JLF?Returning fellows are welcome to apply\, though first-time participants are given priority. \n\n\n\nDid you mention a stipend?First-time fellows earn a $200 stipend at the end of the fellowship.

DESCRIPTION:Students and faculty members will meet weekly to discuss readings from Aaron J Hahn Tapper and Mira Sucharov’s book “Social Justice and Israel/Palestine: Foundational and Contemporary Debates.” We will allot time during the meetings for participants to read the texts that we will be discussing\, so no outside reading is necessary. \n\n\n\nAll reading materials will be provided\, and discussions will be run so that weekly attendance is not necessary to participate. Fellowship meetings will be weekly on Wednesday at 8:00 pm. \n\n\n\nWhat is Gesher? \n\n\n\nSince October 7th\, we’ve felt many things—grief\, mourning\, anger\, fear\, confusion. One thing has been missing: dialogue. Gesher: Building Bridges is a new Tufts Hillel initiative aimed at bridging the divides within the Jewish community. \n\n\n\nGesher fellows will study diverse perspectives on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through a focus on seeing the other and building bridges\, particularly amid the ongoing war. We will delve into important themes\, including identity\, diaspora\, humanization\, and challenging hate. This is a student-led fellowship designed for all students—Jewish and allies alike—committed to shared learning\, open to new experiences\, and respectful toward diverse voices.  \n\n\n\nAs a fellows you will have the opportunity to explore your own views in a challenging\, tolerant\, and respectful environment.
