Email Lexi Trifon at alexis.trifon@tufts.edu to sign up! \n\n\n\nThe Edith Sulzberg Memorial Intergenerational Program brings Tufts students together with residents of Cabot Park Village for conversation\, community\, and Jewish celebration. This event will take place in the Tufts Hillel Sukkah. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nA partnership between Tufts Hillel and Cabot Park Village \n\n\n\nWhat started as a weekly Challah for Hunger delivery turned into something much deeper. \n\n\n\nEdith Sulzberg\, mother of Tufts Hillel’s Director of Operations and Finance Marilyn Goldman\, was a fierce supporter of Jewish life\, young people\, and her daughter’s work. Each Thursday\, students would send challah—and handwritten notes—to residents at Cabot Park Village\, including Edith. But Edith wanted more than a taste of Shabbat. She wanted to meet the students behind the notes\, to see where Marilyn worked\, and to feel the energy of Tufts Hillel for herself. \n\n\n\nWith the help of Tufts Student Eli Fraiman and Cabot Park Village’s Executive director Todd Raymond\, Edith made it to Hillel. That visit sparked a tradition: shared meals\, thoughtful conversations\, and real friendships between Tufts students and Cabot Park Village residents. \n\n\n\nToday\, in Edith’s memory\, this intergenerational program brings students and seniors together for festive lunches\, Shabbat dinners\, and meaningful connection. It’s a space to eat\, laugh\, and build relationships across generations—with your very own Bubbes and Zaydes.

In addition to programming\, the chair can also serve as a resource and point of entry for Jewish and LGBTQ+ students at Tufts. The JQUEST chair also works with other LGBTQ+ organizations on campus such as the Queer Students Alliance and the LGBTQ+ Center. The Spirituality Coordinator will also serve as a liaison between the existing minyanim and any future spiritual services for purposes of coordinating/scheduling prayer experiences. The Spirituality Coordinator is also responsible for planning or helping to plan alternative Friday night services and Saturday day programming as needed. You can expect great food\, connection with your community\, and spiritual renewal! \n\n\n\nTransparent meal pricing: \n\n\n\nThe real cost of a meal to Tufts Hillel is over $40 per person. DESCRIPTION:Welcome to our First Year Hub!\n\n\n\nBelow you’ll find answers to frequently asked questions\, Hillel resources\, and more information that we think will make your transition to Tufts a little easier. \n\n\n\nFAQ\n\n\n\nHow do I RSVP for Shabbat meals?\n \n\n\n\nYou can RSVP for Shabbat meals by texting the keywords below to 617-420-7411. \n\n\n\nText “DINNER” for Friday night Shabbat Dinner. \n\n\n\nText “LUNCH” for Saturday afternoon Shabbat lunch. \n\n\n\nOur first Shabbat dinner of the school year\, First Year Shabbat\, will be on Friday\, August 29th (once all first years have arrived on campus). \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nI’m moving in early for Pre-Orientation. How do I get a Shabbat Kit? \n \n\n\n\nHillel will be giving out free Shabbat Kits to those moving in early on Friday\, August 22nd. Shabbat Kits will include challah\, grape juice\, and dorm-friendly candles. \n\n\n\nYou can pick yours up during our Open House from 12-2pm.  \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nHow do I join the Tufts Hillel Class of 2029 WhatsApp?\n \n\n\n\nClick here to request to join the Tufts Hillel 2029 WhatsApp!  \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nJewish Life Resources\n\n\n\nAs you’re getting settled at Tufts\, we have several opportunities for religious experiences here on campus. Check out our offerings below or contact Katie Hamelburg\, our Senior Jewish Educator\, at kate.hamelburg@tufts.edu for more information! \n\n\n\nRitual Items\n \n\n\n\nMezuzas: We have mezuzas for you to borrow for the year\, if you would like to put one up in your dorm or apartment! We can help you put it up\, if you would like.  \n\n\n\nSiddurs: If you would like your own siddur (prayer book)\, we have personal siddurs for you to take with you! We have Reform\, Conservative\, Orthodox (Ashkenaz)\, and Orthodox (Sephard) personal/travel siddurs. \n\n\n\nTefillin: If you would like to wear or practice trying tefillin\, we have spare tefillin for you to borrow! \n\n\n\nFor a Mezuza\, Siddur\, or Tefillin\, please fill out this form\, come to the Hillel building at 220 Packard Ave\, or contact Katie at kate.hamelburg@tufts.edu. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nShabbat & Holidays\n \n\n\n\nWe have regular programming for Shabbat and Holidays\, ranging from meals\, traditional services (Reform and Conservative)\, alternative programming\, and more. \n\n\n\nFriday Nights:  \n\n\n\nWe have Conservative and Reform services each Friday\, held at the Hillel building (220 Packard Ave). For any updates to timing or location\, please visit the Hillel calendar at tuftshillel.org.  \n\n\n\nWe have weekly Shabbat Dinners held at Tufts Hillel. All information about the weekly Shabbat Dinner will be posted at tuftshillel.org.  \n\n\n\nSaturday Mornings:  \n\n\n\nWe have Conservative Shabbat Morning services held regularly throughout the semester. All dates and times will be posted on the Tufts Hillel calendar at tuftshillel.org.  \n\n\n\nWe have weekly Shabbat Lunches at Tufts Hillel\, on Saturdays at 12:00pm.  \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nGet Coffee with Katie\n \n\n\n\nLooking for more information about Jewish Life on campus? Tufts Hillel is looking for volunteers! \n \n\n\n\nOpportunity 1: Volunteer to tutor for HCAP’s afterschool program! HCAP (Hillel Community Action Partners) has partnered with a local middle school to bring students to our building for Art\, STEM\, and homework help on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the school year. \n\n\n\nOpportunity 2: Volunteer to be an ESL tutor! Our ESL program\, Hillel/McGlynn/Medford Cultural Partnership (HMMCP)\, works to provide English classes to McGlynn Middle School parents and Medford community members who are English language learners. More broadly\, we aim to deepen connections between the Tufts and Medford communities.  \n\n\n\nInterested in these opportunities?
